Can you handle a naked woman in a window?

Flavor: Art , Law and Order

Curator David Zelikovsky was forced by the police to 'remove' a naked woman out of its gallery’s storefront.

Megan Hanford, 26, is part of the gallery’s latest exhibit by Brian Reed. She stands fully naked under a suspended web made of various objects including shark eggs and teeth, beads and clay pipes. Her nakedness is essential, Mr. Reed explained, “so she can be fully at the center of that connectivity” of energy.

The line between art and public indecency has continually been tested, from Spencer Tunick’s mass nude outdoor photo shoots that started in the early 1990s to Amy Gunderson’s going topless at the Mermaid Parade in Brooklyn in 2001.

Some say that as long as it is in the name of artistic expression, you may appear naked on any street corner, storefront or other public space. Others, however, say that the law does not allow one to impose nudity on others, especially for commercial reasons.

Man with sexual fetish for slurry jailed

Flavor: Fetish , Law and Order

David Truscott, 40, broke into a farm, covered himself in the waste and was seen masturbating, a court heard. He was caught just weeks after he was released from a previous prison sentence for a similar offence.

Truscott was arrested in the early hours of November 9 when he was found by police sitting in manure at the same farm. The court heard he is regularly found at the farm in Camborne, Cornwall. On one occasion a milking parlour had been entered and he had stripped down to his pants and climbed into a huge vat of manure.

Mind you.... this is far from being the only weird piece of news i read in Brit newspaper today: My tattoos are breasts.

Kitty porn: Florida man blames cat for illegal downloads

Flavor: Law and Order

A Florida man says his cat downloaded child pornography. Police are charging Keith Griffin of Jensen Beach, Florida with 10 counts of possession of child pornography after finding more than 1,000 images on his personal computer.

Griffin told police he had been downloading music, and that his cat jumped on the keyboard when he left the room. He said "strange things" appeared on the computer when he returned.

He is being held in Martin county jail on $250,000 bond. No word on any charges against the cat.

Crucifix with erection absolved

Flavor: Art , Law and Order , Religion

Artist Federico Solmi's controversial crucifix that was confiscated from the Arte Fiera in Bologna in January is to be returned, and charges against the artist dropped. The cross, which features a pope character with a large grin and an erection, offended a local judge who saw it during the fair, resulting in its confiscation and religious offense and obscenity charges against Solmi.

But the judges in a Bologna court of review found that the cross was nether blasphemous — because it is not a cult object — nor obscene, because it could not be unanimously ruled as such. The artwork is "undoubtedly provocative in light of its associations of sexual and religious symbols," the judges said, "but that does not exclude its conduciveness to the notion of a work of art." They added that the questions raised by the cross can be resolved only by an "elegant intellectual game" that would be of no judicial value.

Butt cleavage a crime

Flavor: Fashion , Law and Order

US authorities have launched a "crackdown" on women who bare too much flesh by wearing thongs.

Women caught showing off what officials calls "cleavage of the buttocks" face being fined up to £750 and thrown in jail under new laws passed by the city of Yakima in Washington state. The law makes it a crime for women to be seen wearing see-through dresses and G-strings in public.

Yakima's Mayor Dave Elder proposed the new law in response to an explosion in coffee shops featuring scantily-clad women. At least three coffee shops in the city have recently opened and use attractive "baristas" who serve customers wearing bikinis or skimpy clothing exposing their thongs. Critics have dubbed the craze sweeping the US as "sexpresso" and say the businesses are using sex to sell coffee.
