Tom Wolfe wins bad sex writing prize

Flavor: Who Knows?

The British prize for the year's worst sex writing, awarded by Literary Review magazine, has been given to Tom Wolfe for some overheated passages in his latest novel, "I Am Charlotte Simmons".

One of Wolfe's nominated passages reads:

�Slither slither slither slither went the tongue. But the hand that was what she tried to concentrate on, the hand, since it has the entire terrain of her torso to explore and not just the otorhinolaryngological caverns � oh God, it was not just at the border where the flesh of the breast joins the pectoral sheath of the chest � no, the hand was cupping her entire right � Now!�

The winner receives a statuette and a bottle of champagne if they appear at the ceremony. In the 12-year history of the awards, Wolfe was the first winner to decline the invitation.
